Profit.FM arrives to replace Autoblog Blueprint.
As mentioned in a previous post, the Autoblog Blueprint program changes to Profit FM. This NEW training program retains all the Autoblog info and also enhances it and keeps it up to date for the Google Panda latest.
As part of their launch on January 18th, they are giving away a WordPress Plugin called Lock.FM.(just part of the Social.FM plugin) What this little beast does is lock your post so if people wish to read more they will have to “Like” or “Google +” or “Tweet” it to unlock the content. Not only does all the “Likes” get noticed by Google BUT it does force you to write some decent content that they will want to unlock in the first place!
Disclosure.
To comply with the FTC guidelines, I am required to inform you that I will receive a commission payment if you purchase through any links on this site. This small commission will not affect the price you pay.
Reasons to have it?
- It can be easily installed on any WordPress Blog.
- It can lock whole or partial posts, videos, downloads or any ‘content” you wish.
- Makes all your visitors “Like” you (or Google + or Tweet, your choice.) All those “Likes”,”+’s” or “Tweets” help with ranking and give you a big “Social Presence” …. not bad for FREE! If your content is good enough you could even go viral!
- Tests have shown that most visitors click to keep reading so you could grow a huge Facebook or Google + or Twitter following. Who would say “No” to a few thousand new followers?
Here is an example of the plugin at work. To watch the video on Profit.FM give it a try.
To view this post content please either Like it on Facebook, tweet it on Twitter or +1 it on Google

Dragon Speech To Text
“My name is Briluki and I’m a one finger typist..” Yes, it feels like I should go to typist meetings and confess my one finger addiction but Dragon speech to text cured me.

Being a “one finger typist” I find writing posts and articles a tiresome task and it seems to take forever. Last month I decided it was time to do something about it and so embarked on a tutorial on typing … boooooring … just how typists learn is beyond me. “There must be a better way in this technology age” thought I, and then I discovered that the speech to text programs I had tried years ago had advanced dramatically. From the old I B M ViaVoice of years ago has evolved Dragon Naturally Speaking but was it worth the investment?
I read many reviews etc. but the only way to find out was to give it a try so I purchased Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11.5 Premium. My new software duly arrived and was installed without a hitch on my PC. (I didn’t go for the Mac version as it was a lot more expensive for a trial run). I went through the set-up procedure and gave it a whirl only to find lots of errors in the transcript and was a bit disappointed. With all the rave reviews surely it should be better than a 50% mistake rate!
If everything else fails … read the instructions!! This ‘baby’ needs training to understand you and your accent and the most important thing is to give it the training it needs … after all, we didn’t learn to speak correctly without training at school. The software comes with a full training workbook and video on disc which explains everything and is a ‘must read’ if you want to get the best out of Dragon speech to text. The training book includes a user guide, correcting errors, recorded dictation, formatting, editing, computer control, voice shortcuts and lots more to get you to a 98% accuracy rate. It is NOT worth skipping the tutorial (like I did) and being disappointed with the results. The video is about 1 hour. As I said … if all else fails … read the instructions!
“So how did it go?” I hear you ask. I’m impressed. This is saving me loads of time and I can now even dictate to a recorder and then let Dragon speech to text write everything later. A fantastic time saver as I can now “write” blog posts in the car through my recorder. The software is still learning and getting better every time I use it and I am still amazed at the computer control function. Just say “Send Email To … ” and up it pops … amazing!
Dragon speech to text Pros:
- Speed. Speed. Speed.
- Hands Free
- Great for Blogs, emails, articles etc. In fact any windows program that has a cursor.
Dragon speech to text Cons:
- Needs training straight out of the box.
- Takes a while to become accurate.
- Quite a big learning curve (but worth it).
- Can be frustrating to begin with.
One MOST IMPORTANT factor to getting the best from Dragon speech to text for your article writing is to do your corrections by voice. Dragon learns by your vocal commands and NOT by typed corrections. This can be a pain sometimes but as it gets better and better you will find it was all worth while as the corrections needed are fewer and fewer. I did most of the training by reading from a book into notepad then doing the corrections by voice and updating my voice profile. I have just convinced my technophobe wife to give it a try and she is current
Oh! And yes. This was 95% written using Dragon speech to text. The only bits I did manually were the logos, headlines, Google buttons and bullets. There probably is a way to do that as well but that’s for another day … I’m just only too pleased to stop the one finger dance.
So to sum up. My experience of Dragon text to speech started off badly because I failed to understand it properly but once I knew the “Way of the Dragon” I have been very impressed and have to give it 9/10. If you write a lot of articles and don’t mind the training time then I highly recommend you give Dragon speech to text a try.
